Yesterday was the 57th anniversary of the arrest of Rosa Parks. 57 years ago Rosa refused to move from her seat to the back of the bus.It was only 57 years ago that it was legal to tell someone just because of their skin color they had to give up their seat. Discrimination like this was widely accepted, it took one brave person to stand up and fight it.Yesterday President Obama visited the bus Rosa Parks was arrested in. It’s a powerful photo.Don’t forget the recent past.

I LOVE KAREN!

It freaked me out in a recent episode of outnumbered when they were all really grown up. It’s wrong!

Snake. An opening monologue.

I like to write stuff. This one is completely spontaneous, except for the first line…

It smells like…new.
I don’t know if I like it. You know what I mean though? New, as in freshly cut grass, harvested grain, a newly built building, untouched books, straight off the press.
New.
It’s disgusting.
I liked it better before. It was more…slimey and dark, and damp. Now it’s light for a bit, then dark, but in the dark it’s peaceful, but there’s still light in the, what’s is called? Sky.
WHY!? It was better before!
It was lonelier before, too. The good kind of lonely where you don’t have to share, you can just be. Like…solitude.
Now, well. There are…things everywhere.

Look over there. You’ll know what I mean when you see it. Yes, by that stream, with the woman dipping her toes in it? Yeah? They’re a nightmare. They have NO IDEA what they’re doing. It’s really funny to watch. They’ve been given this thing called..love. They spend a lot of time attached to each other. I wonder if they realise what they look like. It’s OK, they will soon.

Shh, she’s coming over…

I went to church with my family tonight and the pastor said something that I think every Christian should hear

Pastor:
Now, according to a few passages in the bible, homosexuality is a sin.
Couple of older males in the audience:
Amen!
Pastor:
Now, wait, I'm not finished.
Pastor:
You know what else the bible defines as a sin? Divorce.
-uncomfortable silence-
Pastor:
There are countless passages that talk about how divorce is wrong, and that there are consequences to getting a divorce, such as the wife should be stoned.
Pastor:
Yet, I witnessed a divorce just this morning. And I gotta tell you, it was heartbreaking, but I definitely didn't attempt to throw rocks at the wife, even though she was the one who filed for divorce.
Pastor:
We choose to overlook the consequences of divorce because time has proven that they're inhumane and cruel.
Pastor:
The bible doesn't say anything about the consequences of a homosexual lifestyle. Yet, we seem to be spearheading a campaign to ruin the lives of people we don't even know.
-the pastor shifts a few notes around-
Pastor:
The bible states to love thy neighbor. That's it. There are no other rules or restrictions to that passage.
Pastor:
So, we as a church family have to support equality with a smile on our face. THAT is the true Christian way.
